Protecting the local environment and community around Soyo is integral to Angola LNG’s operations. Our safeguard-based approach embedded within ALNG’s Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS) focuses on managing air, water, waste, and biodiversity impacts responsibly. Through continuous improvement, we aim to minimise our footprint while supporting long-term environmental resilience. keyboard_arrow_down Environmental

Air and Water Stewardship

Angola LNG’s air and water stewardship management builds on the design principles established through Angola LNG’s environmental and social impact assessment before commissioning. This includes maintaining original design controls while implementing continuous improvement initiatives, monitoring performance and impacts, and reporting results to relevant stakeholders.

High Air Quality with More Production

ALNG 2025 ambient air quality measurements show safe air quality levels consistent with previous measurements.

[1] Results from 2025 air quality monitoring show levels well within applicable standards.

I joined Angola LNG 15 years ago as a Biodiversity Specialist, leading programmes such as mangrove and sea turtle monitoring. That work showed me that protecting ecosystems also protects communities. By building a community-based sea turtle conservation project, I worked with local people to highlight its ecological, cultural, and economic value. True sustainability starts by empowering communities to protect the natural heritage they depend on.
